Stylish Grade II Listed

Embracing the character of an older building, focusing on highlighting the antiquated room features through a natural colour palette and strategic design. The finished bathroom seamlessly marries modern style with the property's historical charm.
At DeVal, we enjoy discovering the character and history embedded in old buildings, exemplified by this Grade II Listed home.

Our objective with historic properties is to collaborate with our clients in crafting spaces that accentuate antiquated features rather than conceal them. We focused on the beautiful old beams within the walls of this property. We opted for a natural and subtle colour palette of cream and cool white, harmonising with the tiling to fashion a gentle, nuanced colour scheme.

We strategically designed this expansive room to integrate distinct areas, maximising the architectural fabric of the building and showcasing the products. Each product chosen for the design stands out on its own, from the exquisite freestanding bath by Ashton & Bentley, positioned centrally in front of the aged brick fireplace, to the Laufen double basin unit with a mirror above, precisely aligned with the contours of the charmingly crooked beam. We carefully considered all these features to remain faithful to the property, bringing together the client’s aspirations for the space and fashioning a striking modern style in this period home.
