Functional Family Bathroom
This bathroom renovation needed to tick a lot of boxes to meet the everyday needs of two very different teenagers and also be able to transform into a space where the parents could come and have a bath to unwind in the evening.
Lots of storage was essential for this bathroom; however, space was not at a premium, so we wanted to avoid cluttering the room with cupboards and shelves. We chose the striking and practical Laufen Kartell vanity unit for its generous drawer capacity and practical ceramic offset basin shelf. The awkwardly positioned soil vent pipe proved to be the biggest challenge in this room, and we did our best to disguise it carefully by building out the boxing and recessing in a mirrored cabinet for additional storage. Including multiple niches provided extra functional showering toiletry storage and the perfect opportunity for us to include ambient lights that would give the ideal soft ambient glow to enjoy a relaxing bath.
Quality and performance were two key features we considered when specifying products, so we chose manufacturers who epitomise this, such as Bette, Laufen and Graff. Another request from the client was to include a showering toilet; we favour Laufen’s Riva and Navia bidet toilets for their Swiss design and innovation. By really taking the time to get to know our client and listen to their needs, we were able to create a bathroom design that was simple but effective. The team at DeVal transformed the bathroom space into a colourful, smart, and sophisticated room.
