Textured Terrazzo Bathroom
Using a variety of patterns and textures makes for a bathroom that feels playful; it is the finishing touches that ensure it also feels deluxe.
Whilst there was no need to reinvent the wheel here in terms of floorplan, removing an existing cupboard helped to open the space and give a larger wall area for the tiles to give more impact. Varying depths of materials where tiling meets tiling was a challenge, but the results speak for themselves.
Going the extra mile on finishing details such as mitring niche edges and choosing the perfect complementary grout colour has taken this room to the next level. Combining two tones for the fittings: black and brushed brass, and choosing simple styles balances the bolder design elements and allows materials to take centre stage. Whilst there is no shortage of points of interest in this room, the real stars of the show have got to be the Rialto Terrazzo from Ca’Pietra and the Laufen New Classic range, with its sublime shaped basin and characterful border detailing on the furniture.
Executing a room with a variety of patterns and textures can introduce the risk of it feeling busy, so a lot of thought went into ensuring no element was ‘overdone’.
